The Role of the Condamine Alliance and other Regional Entities
Regional bodies are crucial to the delivery of outcomes under the
NAP. They will develop, implement and monitor natural resource management
(NRM) strategies in each region. This will involve:
- developing strong community input and participation in strategy
development and implementation;
- building strong partnerships between stakeholders in regions;
- fostering extensive information sharing and communication; and
- monitoring and reporting on NRM outcomes.
A key challenge for the Condamine Alliance (and other regional
bodies) is to incorporate social and economic issues into the design
of regional NRM plans. Consideration will also be given to the economic
and social impacts that result from the implementation of regional
NRM strategies.

Like all effective planning, that involving
NRM cannot be carried out in isolation. It must be strategic and
be fully integrated with all other aspects of regional planning
including land use, transport, economic development, and technology/communications.
The Condamine Alliance's comprehensive partnership with a broad
range of stakeholders will be strengthened through it's direct relationship
with the EDRPAC, ensuring that the integrated NRM planning process
has legislative underpinning.
